Six people were arrested following a robbery and theft in the city last night.
Police will claim that just before 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, six people entered a city servo on the west terrace and stole two baskets of groceries.
After the group left the store, they approached a woman riding her bike on Glover Avenue. Two members of the group attacked the woman and knocked her off her bike before stealing her backpack. The woman was slightly injured and was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment.
The group ran away, patrols put up barriers and called Polair and PD Zac and his handler for help. They got on a train in Wayville but were picked up by the police in Woodland Park.
All six were arrested and some of the victims were in the group. The victim’s backpack and handbag were found by PD Zac in an oval on the west terrace.
A 16-year-old boy from Huntfield Heights and a 13-year-old girl from Christie Downs were charged with aggravated robbery and theft. Both were released on bail to appear in Adelaide Juvenile Court on April 22nd.
A 31-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl from Christie Downs, as well as a 16-year-old girl from Morphett Vale and a 17-year-old boy from Meadows, were charged with theft. The youths were released on bail to appear in Adelaide Youth Court on April 22nd and the woman was released on bail to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court on June 1.
